Shorty's Story
This dapper fellow is Shorty, being fostered in RI since rescued from a high intake shelter in Houston, TX. An owner surrender in rough shape at the time, but Shorty is resilient and has dealt with his journey since well. A dental has made him feel MUCH better as has being switched to a more readily digestible prescription dog food. A funny and affectionate character who can fill a room and keep you laughing, Shorty is a great companion who is guessed to be around eight years of age. He has some old injury, an ACL tear or slight patellar luxation, that finds him tending to hop around on three legs at faster paces, but it does not seem to bother him, let alone slow him down. Shorty is a long bodied Chihuahua mix of some sort, with that nice delicacy Chis can have. Ultra sweet with his people, he loves his toys, is very playful and cooperative with other dogs, but he thinks cats are evil so does belong in a cat free home. Pretty much a readymade pet, Shorty does well in his crate, enjoys walks and is a very happy boy. In terms of housebreaking, since given time to settle in he's been very good about letting his foster know when it is potty time :) Shorty will fit into a myriad of situations....a full family, single person or retiree, and is all set to go to his forever home! Southpaws is happy to maintain its adoption fee at $450, but unfortunately we cannot adopt to residents of Massachusetts and New Hampshire due to state restrictions. For an application, or should you have any questions, please contact Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com
