Shortcake's Story

We advise all adopters to expect the 3-3-3 rule as a general guideline for introducing a pet to the home: 3 days to decompress (will show nervousness, hiding, reduced appetite), 3 weeks to settle into a routine (beginning to explore and showing personality), and 3 months to build trust and feel fully comfortable in their new home. This period may be longer for shy or extremely scared animals.

Do you mind having company in the bathroom? In the bed? In the bath? If you don't mind, then Shortcake is the girl for you. She adores people and has no concept of personal space...or personal boundaries. She loves children as well, but with her lack of personal space, she can be a little overwhelming for children under 7 years. Shortcake is active and super happy, but gets nervous in new situations. She gets overwhelmed by other dogs very easily and would do best with another dog who is willing to just relax and give her space.
