Shirley's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Shirley!!!

After a life of producing puppies and thrown out like trash and Shirley and her mother found themselves in the pound scheduled for euthanasia. The morning of their doomed appointment we fought to have them pulled.
Shirley never let the neglect and open sores stop her from loving people. Shirley is incredibly kind and gentle. Fostering on farm she has had ample exposure to so many different creatures big and small. (Horses cows ducks chickens cats) She hangs out with the flock and loves to follow along when people ride in the arena. Even little wild man cubs she treats like another pup in her pack with patience and a gentleness that can hold an egg. Shirley walks on the leash but still requires support in public as she gets scared. She is very attached to home. She is not the type to ever run away from home she is so family oriented. Shirley loves short play times/ walks and lots of cuddles. She has no rude behaviors. In the home she is calm and quiet. Shirley is also a comedian. When she expresses herself she’s very theatrical. A complete goof ball! Shirley LOVES the water. A kiddy pool suits her fine. Shirley is SPAYED!!!. If not for the snores I’d have no clue shes in my home she is so good. She has been an absolute pleasure to foster. It is also important to note why her mother and her are to be separated.. Shirley wants her own person or family to bond with. On a farm love is spread all over and Shirley is the center of attention kinda girl. Her mom is older less active and happy to hang around. Shirley girl is a walking adventure. I know in the last few months she has blossomed, her personality absolutely radiant and there is a lot more to come. Are you and your family her person? Remember friends.. You don’t go throw a whole life away because it’s banged up a little. Foster/adopt save a life.

If you are interested in Shirley, please complete an adoption application at lastdaydogs.com

Tails of the Unwanted's Adoption Policy
Our main goal during the adoption process is to find the perfect match for you and your family. Our process includes: Adoption Application Phone Interview Vet Check Personal Reference Check Home Photos The most important part of our adoption process is the phone interview, this is where we get to know you and your family more and your needs and wants for a new family member. During the phone interview try to tell us as much as possible about your lifestyle and family so we can make sure you are getting the perfect match. At the end of the phone interview we may suggest a different dog due to the dog you put in an application for not fitting your lifestyle needs or vice versa, this is for everyones best interest so please do not get discouraged. We want you and the dog to be happy for the rest of their lives. The home photos are in lieu of a home visit. We do out of state adoptions so sometimes home visits are not feasible. For the home photos we are looking for where the dog will spend majority of their time (i.e. yard, living room, bedroom, kitchen). Our applications process is on a somewhat of a first come first serve basis, but in the end it is who is a better fit for the dog. This process can take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks depending on how many applications we are processing.
