Shirley's Story
Shirley
Small but Mighty with a Heart Full of Love

Fostered in Beach Park, IL
12 Weeks Old Female Chihuahua Mix (Probably)

If Shirley had her own booth at Shotz Brewery, she'd probably be standing on the table giving everyone instructions on how things should be run.

This tiny little lady is part of our Shirley & Laverne litter, and much like her namesake from Laverne & Shirley, she's sweet, lovable, full of spunk, and never afraid to make her presence known.

At just 12 weeks old and approximately 5 pounds soaking wet, Shirley is the smallest of her siblings. The shelter that sent her our way reported that her mother was a Chihuahua. As for dad? Well, he apparently skipped town before anyone could ask questions. While we may never know exactly what breed mix Shirley is, we're pretty confident she's going to stay on the smaller side. Think larger Chihuahua size... maybe. Or perhaps she'll grow into those adorable ears someday. Time will tell!

What Shirley lacks in size, she more than makes up for in personality. Her foster mom describes her as "small but mighty." Despite being the tiniest puppy in the litter, Shirley often acts like the leader of the pack. She's brave, curious, confident, and usually the first one to investigate anything new.

Shirley's Favorite Things:

Playing with other dogs
Crinkly toys and noisy toys
Racing around with her siblings
Exploring every corner of the house
Snuggling up after a busy day of play

Shirley's Highlights:

Great with other dogs
Great with cats
Does well with respectful older children
Well socialized
High energy and playful
Affectionate and cuddly
Working on potty training, kennel training, and other puppy basics

Shirley plays hard and loves every minute of it. Whether she's chasing toys, wrestling with her siblings, or leading the charge on a new adventure, she approaches life with enthusiasm and confidence. But once she's worn herself out, she's more than happy to curl up beside her favorite people for a nap and some cuddles.

Because of Shirley's very small size, we are seeking a home with no small children for her safety.

If you're looking for a puppy with a huge personality packed into a tiny package, Shirley might just be the perfect addition to your family.

Adoption Fee: $450

Apply to adopt: MastroMutts.com/forms

Shirley is being fostered in a private home through Mastro Mutts and is receiving lots of love while she waits for her forever family. She is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and will be adopted with a spay contract if not yet altered. Her adoption fee helps cover a portion of her veterinary care and allows us to continue rescuing dogs in need.

Wisconsin DATCP License #537304
