Shire's Story
"Shire" came to us as a stray when an individual gained his trust to be caught and asked to foster for us. Due to some changes, "Shire" had to come into the kennels, and they are not ideal for him. We don't know his past, but we do believe people weren't always kind to him. He can be very protective of himself is he feels crowded or confined. He's very weary of new people, and comes off as very tense and on guard. However, once "Shire" has time to adjust, and people are slow and steady with him, he turns into a completely different dog. He's happy, goofy, and absolutely loves leaning in for ear scratches. Because of "Shire's" insecurities, and need for patience, time, and understanding, small children are not recommended. We guarantee that if anyone who comes into our kennels and will allow us to show "Shire's" potential, will see that a true companion dog is there. He is smart. Treat motivated, and would honestly make the perfect trucker dog, camping and hiking enthusiast dog, or just a lounge around all day long with a retired couple. Come meet "Shire" in the kennels Thursday and Friday 12 pm - 4 pm and Saturdays 12 pm - 3 pm. Be sure to ask for a member of the kennel staff to remove him from his kennel in order to see how he changes during interaction.
