Shiloh

Shiloh is a 12-year-old Lab/Mastiff mix with a beautiful gray face and a story we really wish she didn't have.<br/><br/>Her owner unexpectedly passed away. A local firefighter responded to the call and learned that Shiloh had already spent an extended amount of time in a shelter before getting what would sadly be a short amount of time with her owner.<br/><br/>He couldn't stand the thought of her losing her person and then ending up right back in a shelter. So he took her home. That firefighter is now Shiloh's foster dad. <br/><br/>And after everything this girl has been through, what Shiloh needs now is pretty simple: a soft place to land and a family to call her own.<br/><br/>Despite being 12, Shiloh is healthy and still active. She loves having some open space to trot around and explore, but when she's had enough, she's very much an older lady who would like everyone to please locate her couch.<br/><br/>She's currently living with five dogs of different sizes and does well with all of them. She'll happily lounge on the couch or share a dog bed with a canine friend, but she doesn't need another dog to be happy. Her favorite company is simply her people.<br/><br/>Shiloh is house trained and does wonderfully loose in the home without making messes. She does not enjoy being crated and can become extremely anxious when confined. Outside of the crate, she's a completely different dog and is currently doing well without anxiety medication. She also isn't a fan of thunderstorms, so she'll need someone willing to help her feel safe when the sky gets a little too loud.<br/><br/>She's good with people and has done well with kids ages 5 and up. Cats are currently unknown.<br/><br/>Most days, Shiloh is perfectly content looking out the window, snoozing on the couch, wandering around the yard, getting some pets, and then finding herself another comfortable spot to nap.<br/><br/>She's low maintenance. She's sweet. She's dog friendly. And she doesn't need someone to give her the whole world.<br/><br/>She just needs someone willing to make her little corner of it feel safe and loved again.<br/><br/>Thanks to one firefighter who couldn't bear to see her return to a shelter, Shiloh got a second chance when she needed it most.<br/><br/>Now she's ready for the next chapter!<br/><br/>To apply for this sweet girl, visit rescueapittie.org!
