Shiloh's Story

Shiloh is a tall, handsome gentleman who is looking for a family that will love him through his golden years. He always happy and is always willing to give hugs. He doesn't need to be the center of attention, but he wants to be nearby. Shiloh is very go with the flow and is willing to do anything you ask of him. He is great about getting in and out of a car, he has no issues going up and down stairs, and he is always up for a leisurely walk. He also likes to take naps on the couch and explore the backyard (occasionally he will chase a squirrel or bunny). He is not much of a barker, and not bothered by things like vacuums, sirens, doorbells, or people walking by the house. Shiloh recently had quite a few teeth extracted, but you would never know, as he was his normal cheery self while recovering.<br/>One of the many benefits of an older dog is that they don't require the same level of supervision as younger pups. Shiloh quickly convinced his foster family that he doesn't like or need a crate, and there is no baby gate that could hold him back. Fortunately, this senior gentleman earned the trust of his foster family by proving that he is a good boy who has no interest in counter surfing or getting into things. He is very adamant that he gets to sleep on a certain pet bed, and he gets a little bent out of shape if one of the other dogs gets there before him. He pretty much stays in one place all night until he is told it is time to go out in the morning. Shiloh is currently living with a puppy and is very kind and tolerant of him, but he prefers the pace of the older resident dog. Shiloh would be best suited as an only dog or in a home that doesn't have young, energetic pups. He is excellent with adults and teens, and would probably be best with children older than five, who understand the slower pace of an older dog. If you are looking for an easygoing buddy with a sweet personality, Shiloh is the right collie for you.
