Meet Shilo <br/>Some dogs make an impression the moment you meet them, and Shilo is one of those dogs.<br/>This beautiful 5-year-old Labrador Retriever mix has a big personality, an even bigger heart, and is ready to find a family she can call her own.<br/>At 90+ pounds, Shilo is a whole lot of dog to love. She is currently working on her fitness journey and shedding a few extra pounds, but don't let her size fool youthis girl loves an adventure. In fact, she'll happily grab her leash herself when she's ready to head out and explore the world with you.<br/>At home, Shilo is wonderfully calm and easygoing. You'll often find her stretched out in a sunny spot, enjoying a nap or soaking up affection from her favorite people. She loves being near her family and simply sharing life's quiet moments together.<br/>When it's time for fun, however, Shilo is all in.<br/>One of her absolute favorite things is water. Whether she's splashing, wading, swimming, or proudly retrieving sticks, there's nothing quite like seeing Shilo's joy when she's at the lake or beach.<br/>She also has a very special talent when it comes to stuffed toys. Give her a squeaky toy and she'll enthusiastically perform what her foster family lovingly calls a "squeakectomy"removing the squeaker with remarkable focus and determination. It's one of the many things that makes everyone who meets her smile.<br/>Shilo is friendly with people and genuinely enjoys being part of the action. She knows her name, responds well to direction, and loves having a relationship with her humans. While she is generally a calm girl, she has a wonderfully goofy side that comes out when she's excited, reminding everyone around her that life should be fun.<br/>Like many dogs who have experienced significant changes, Shilo is still adjusting to a brand-new chapter in her life. Her entire world has changed, and while she has handled it with remarkable resilience, she can occasionally feel unsure in unfamiliar situations.<br/>When those moments happen, Shilo doesn't need someone to "fix" hershe simply needs someone willing to understand her. Someone who can offer a little reassurance, a little patience, and the space to work through new experiences at her own pace. Every day she grows more confident, and watching her continue to blossom has been incredibly rewarding.<br/>Shilo currently lives with another dog and two cats. She does well with other dogs but is very clear about her boundaries and appreciates canine companions who can respectfully read her signals. With cats, thoughtful introductions and supervision are important. Having been raised alongside a feline best friend, she has shown that she can successfully coexist with cats, although she would likely like to be the one and only fur baby in the home. <br/>What Shilo is truly looking for is a family who will see the incredible dog behind the transition.
