Sherrie's Story

Say hello to adorable & adoptable Sherrie! Sherrie is a 6 year old girl, and she's 20 pounds of love! She is the absolute sweetest girl who just needs somewhere to finally call home. She can be a little shy at first, but with a little patience she quickly shows her personality! She never barks so shared walls won't be a problem for her. She does great with all brushing, walking on a leash, and she loves her crate or somewhere safe for her to unwind. Since she has been with us, she has not met a stranger she didn't want to meet. She also does great with other dogs and anyone who can give her pets! She will give you or your other fur babies a lick or a small whine if she feels like she doesn't have enough of your attention. Sherrie would do best in a home with other dogs or even kids that she can play with and continue to build her "dog" skills. She is working on potty training but she's picking it up great! (A little treat is a great motivator for her!) Sherrie is truly the happiest little girl and has so much puppy time to catch up on, age is just a number for this sweetheart.
Unfortunately, Sherrie is heartworm positive, but please don't let that scare you! She will be treated at CSRA/SA expense at one of our area vets. Treatment will require temporarily keeping her activity level low for about 3 months -- and since she already loves her crate, crate rest will be very manageable for her. It sounds much scarier than it actually is! Sherrie is ready to find her forever family so she can start treatment surrounded by love and stability.
Interested in adoption? Our adoptions require an approved application which you can find on our website. Already approved applicants can email woof@austincockerrescue.org with their interest. We adopt to within the state of Texas.
