Sherpa Throw's Story

Age: 2-3 years
Size: 80lbs

Sherpa was found hiding inside a local school, covered in wounds, flea-infested, and sick with heartworms. After months of medical care and treatment, he made a full recovery and his wild child personality is in full bloom.

Sherpa is everything you’d hope for in a working dog - intelligent and diligent with an independent streak. Although he’s friendly with people and gets along with similar-sized dogs, he is often more interested in exploring the world or focusing on a task. He’s a sweet dog who wants to please but hasn’t fully matured with appropriate social skills.

To continue socializing him, we enrolled Sherpa at Instinct Dog Behavior and Training, where he’s excelling in scent work and brushing up on his communication skills. His adopter will have access to 8 FREE private training sessions with Instinct’s trainers (available in-person for those in NYC or willing to travel, or virtually from anywhere), ensuring a supported and successful transition home.

Sherpa is looking for foster placement in NYC or surrounding areas, and he’s available for local or out-of-state ADOPTION as long as the adopter can travel to meet him. Please send us an application at https://bit.ly/rosr-adopt-foster to get the process started.
