SHERLOCK's Story

WANT A FURRY, FUN AND FANTASTIC FRIEND?

THIS is your man!!!!

Clever as they come and ready for fun. That is Sherlock's motto in life.

Sherlock found himself in deep trouble, when his owners sold their home, packed up all their things and left without taking him. Neighbors saw him huddled by the front door in the winter cold, but it was the realtor who got him help, when she went to inspect the home, a full week after his people abandoned him.

He was deliriously happy to be picked up and taken to his foster's home, where he quickly settled in and never looked back. He is such a happy and fun little fellow.

He personifies the saying, "One man's trash will be your treasure".

He figured things out in his new foster home, so quickly, we knew we had to give him a name that would speak to his intelligence and cleverness.

Sherlock fit him perfectly.

Sherlock is about 3 years old and weighs around 14lbs. He has an adorable little pink nose and a small underbite that is to die for. His tail curls over his back and he has a soft white double coat. We have no idea what genetics came together to create him but he is built for fun and ease of transport.

His foster has been teaching him the art of living as a companion animal, including potty training, leash walking and car travel. He is an excellent student too. When traveling it is safest to belt him in or put him in a crate simply because he will try to take over the driver seat, if allowed, to get the best view of where he's going. He loves his walks with his foster friend Oakley, and does pretty good on a leash but a little fine tuning will be in order, if you want obedience ranking leash skills. He still has the occasional accident but they are much fewer and far between he will bark to alert to strangers lurking about, so could be useful as a second layer of security, for anybody looking for such a thing.

He was a very polite gentleman at the vet office, sitting next to his foster and watching all the activity with curiosity and loved getting all kinds of attention from the vet techs. He is also learning about toys and their purpose in life but has not chewed up anything inappropriate, so is done with that phase of life. He has been fine with dogs he's been introduced to but really doesn't need doggy companionship or a play pal, so would be happy without one. He is however, a pretty dedicated cat chaser, so if you have kitties in the home, their peace will end when Sherlock arrives.

Sherlock would also like to sleep in the bed with you at night but if that can't happen, perhaps just in the room on his own bed.

So if you would love a happy, fun, loving, perky, curious, clever, handsome and easy peasy canine buddy to share life, love and beds with, Sherlock would love to make your acquaintance. To make that happen, please go to our website at www.allmuttsgreatandsmall.org/adoption and fill out the online application. Sherlock would love to meet you and share life adventures.

He is neutered, up to date on five way and rabies vaccines, has been tested and treated for intestinal parasites, microchipped and is flea/tick free. He is ready to bring his happy smile and snuggle bug ways, to your life, until his very last tail wag.

Adoption fee is $350

All Mutts Great and Small's Adoption Policy
We believe there are many different ways to be a successful dog owner. It is our intent to broaden the idea of happy dog/person relationships to go beyond the traditional. Our goal is to place people and dogs together with the intent being compatibility. We know these dogs and we want to match them with the person who will provide them with the best possible life. One they would have chosen themselves had they been able too. We do NOT have a standard list of "must haves", preferring to match dog with adopter. www.allmuttsgreatandsmall.org
