Sheppe's Story

Sheppe is a young German Shepherd, just under a year old, with a heart as big as her ears. This sweet girl is full of love and affection, but the world can still feel a little overwhelming for her at first. When meeting new people, she can be shy and unsure--but with a little patience, her loving personality really starts to shine.

Sheppe was found as a stray in the county, and thankfully a kind finder took her in and brought her to safety. Despite her rough start, it's clear she has so much love to give and truly wants to trust--she just needs a gentle, understanding home to help her feel secure.

She is mostly housebroken and has done very well adjusting to a routine. She enjoys the company of other dogs and seems to gain confidence from having a canine friend around. On a leash, she can be a bit nervous at first, but she is learning quickly and improving every day--she's a smart girl who wants to do well.

Sheppe is the kind of dog who will form a deep, loyal bond with her person. With time, reassurance, and kindness, she's going to blossom into an incredible companion. She may start off a little shy, but once she feels safe, her sweet and loving nature truly comes through.

If you're looking for a gentle, devoted dog to grow with, Sheppe could be the perfect fit.An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt.
