Shepherd (1 of 19 shih tzus)'s Story

Foster Update Shepherd:
Shep is super sweet. He’s not a total Velcro dog, but likes to be where you are. He is timid meeting new humans and is vocal, but his tail says it all! He is interested and happy to meet new friends! He is learning that there is more to this life than being a breeder dog! His foster brother has taught him what friendship means. He’s taught him how to play with toys! He will toss his ball and chase it! lol. He now understands that sharing is fun! Trust means not only fun games of tug of war with foster mom’s fluffy socks, but also cuddles by the fire. They have the best time playing together! He is teaching foster brother the art of going potty either outside, or on a potty pad. The boys eat in their crates. Sharing toys is one thing…. Food is not shareable at this point, but he’s working on it! He is scheduled for neuter this Tuesday 1/27!

Please apply at www.peanutsplacerescue.org click application scroll down until it appears. These dogs will all need shaved completely. 20 yrs of rescue and even I’ve never seen dogs this bad. I don’t even know how a groomer can get through these mats, some solid blocks and a few we were unable to determine sexes. We got 19. Amazing that all of these dogs are only about a year to 2 yrs old at the most Most were easy to handle. A couple gave us a little growl but no attempts to bite. Be prepared, these dogs are disgusting. They smell they have fleas and ticks some can barely move from the mats on their legs. They have zero vetting and won’t for a while. No vet could even give a shot until shaved down. We can start setting vet appts after Jan 1. All are shihtzus or Lhasas. I’m sure this puppy mill will make the news. About 80 dogs in deplorable living conditions. And people were buying puppies off these people for Christmas!!!
