Shelly's Story

Hi! My name is Shelly, and I am a 2-year-old terrier mix. I had a rough start to my life – I found myself at PACC and very pregnant. Luckily, I was taken out of PACC by AZ Rescue Life and was able to give birth in a warm home. I raised my puppies and now I am ready to find my forever home! I will need a patient home and someone who is willing to wait for me to feel comfortable and safe. My past has made it hard to trust people right away, but I am curious and like to be in the same room as my humans and watch what they are doing. I love treats and snacks – especially cheese – that is a quick way to my heart. I love sleeping on the couch during the day and in the human bed at night, but I also do great in my crate. I am still a little skittish and I have not used a leash yet, so I would need a securely fenced yard to make sure I stay safe when going potty. I would prefer a home that is calm and consistent. I would do best in a home with older children who would be respectful of my space. I like other dogs but would also be fine being an only pup. I haven’t been around cats, but I don’t seem to care about the ones that sometimes visit the backyard at my foster parents’ house. I am a sweet girl who can’t wait to finally find a home to call my own. Please fill out an application at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/39039/generic
