Sheldon Cooper's Story

Sheldon’s story with us started with him being abandoned at a local hotel and found hiding under a sink. Can you imagine how small and scared he must’ve felt?

So these days, Sheldon is still figuring life out. New people and new situations can make him a little unsure at first. He’s the type to stand back, observe, and collect his data before deciding if you’re trustworthy. Feral? Maybe just a tiny bit. Aggressive? Never. He’s simply trying to process the world and make sense of things.

He does seem to feel more comfortable around men at first and absolutely loves our male cleaners. Female staff can still make him a little nervous, but he gains confidence more and more every day.

Once Sheldon decides you’re one of his people, a whole different side comes out. He loosens up, wants to play, and starts showing his goofy personality. Sheldon is approximately 60 lbs, around 1 year old, and has done well with the dogs he’s met so far.

Although he may not be the dog running up to greet every stranger right away yet, watching Sheldon learn to trust has been incredibly rewarding. He would likely benefit from a patient home that understands shy dogs sometimes just need time to decompress and feel safe and deserves to be given the chance he never got before.

If you’re interested in meeting Sheldon, please stop by during our open hours or contact us for more information!
