Shelby's Story

Meet Shelby!

Shelby is a sweet, playful young girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is always ready for fun, cuddles, or a tasty treat! She hasnt met any cats yet, so her feline compatibility is still unknown.

Shelby came to Valley Dogs Rescue as a stray and has warmed up quickly to life in her foster home. Her exact breed is unknown, but she is listed as a Shepherd mix. Born around mid-February 2026, she is approximately 45 months old. Weighing in at just 10 pounds, she may grow into a medium-sized dogbut dont tell her that!

Shelby is a smart puppy who is eager to learn and highly food-motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. She has already mastered sit, is making great progress with stay, and is excited to keep learning new skills with her forever family.

She is both dog-door trained and kennel trained, sleeping comfortably in her kennel at night and relaxing calmly while her family is away. Shelby loves playing with her foster siblings, from younger (but bigger!) puppies to adult dogs, and enjoys every opportunity to run, play, and explore.

This happy, active girl would thrive with a family that will continue her training, provide plenty of exercise, and include her in everyday adventures. She is microchipped, spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and ready to find her forever home.

To help make her transition easy, Shelby will go home with a collar, leash, harness, bowls, bedding, and toys. Her foster mom is also happy to lend a kennel for the first two weeks if needed.

If you're looking for a resilient, loving, intelligent, and playful companion who will fill your days with joy, laughter, and unconditional love, Shelby may be the perfect addition to your family!

For more information about adopting Shelby, please email ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG
