Shelby's Story
Hi! I’m Shelby!

I’m an 11-month-old golden retriever who was lucky enough to be rescued from a puppy mill last month. Now that I’ve gotten a taste of freedom, I’m learning how great people can be!

Since moving from a barn into a home I have been getting more and more confidence every day. I do still get nervous when it’s loud or in highly active situations. I would do best in a home with a fenced in yard, and without young kids around. I am still nervous when walking on a leash, but it’s a brand new experience for me!

I am already house broken and crate trained. I love MY people, although I’m still nervous when meeting new people. Once I trust you, all bets are off and we ARE going to snuggle. My favorite human so far is a young adult male, he’s shown me the opposite end of the spectrum and is proof that there are great people out there.

I am currently living with two other dogs and I don’t mind them. Honestly, I would be perfectly content to be the only dog in the home. If there are other dogs around they need to be low key.

You might notice that my eyes look a little sad. I have what's called entropion which means my eyelids roll inward which causes discomfort. I'll be having surgery to repair that later this month and by this time next month you and I both won't even remember!

Shelby's adoption fee is $700! This adoption fee includes: her alter, entropion surgery. a microchip, her rabies, bordetella, and age appropriate DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.

If you think she may be perfect for you, please apply using the link below!

https://www.cognitoforms.com/NorthPawRescue/NorthPawRescueDogAdoptionApplication

**Unfortunately, we cannot adopt out to Canada at this time.

**We require a 60 minute adoption radius. This dog is currently being fostered in Hilton, NY.
