Before this, I spent my whole life in a puppy mill, where I only knew the inside of a crate - until now. I’m still figuring out how to be a dog, and now I get to experience the puppyhood I missed out on. I am learning how it feels to be loved in a family, and I am looking forward to a wonderful life ahead of me!

I may be a little shy at first, but I will warm up to you quickly and want to snuggle on your lap all day long. Ear rubs are the best, and I will melt into your hands when you pet me! Except treats - treats are even better! I also discovered walks - I was a little nervous at first, but now I like to stop in front of every person I meet to see if they’ll give me pets. It usually works.

Sometimes I get so happy that I make little piggy noises, which always get laughs. When I nap (which is a lot), I snore like a truck, so I need an owner who doesn’t mind some white noise. And don’t forget to tuck me in before bed!

I learn really well from other puppies, which is why I’m hoping for a family with a confident dog who can be my friend and help show me the ways of the world. I may need a bit of patience because I’m still learning and can be a bit mischievous at times. But I think I’m doing a pretty great job!

If you’re looking for an adventurous, cuddly little lovebug, I’m just the dog for you. I think I’d make a great addition to your family!

And now, a few words from my foster mom:

Shelby is an incredibly sweet, intelligent, and affectionate girl who is still learning how to navigate the world. As everything is new to her—stairs, toys, walks, freedom—she is approaching her new life with curiosity and courage. She can be mischievous in the most endearing way and has a serious passion for naps and cozy beds. Words can’t express how lovable and kind she is.

At home, Shelby thrives on love and companionship. She will always have an eye on you to make sure she is close, and her favourite thing is snoozing on the couch beside or even on top of her people. She sleeps deeply, loves being tucked in for the night, and rarely barks; we have only heard her bark once, and it was when she saw herself in the mirror.

When it’s time for an adventure, Shelby walks wonderfully on a leash and is eager to meet every person and dog she sees. Upon returning from a walk, she leaps into the house with joyful excitement, so happy to be back home with the rest of the foster family.

Shelby would do best in a home with another dog who can continue to teach her about her new world. She will make a devoted, snuggly addition to a patient and loving home that is ready to help her continue discovering the good life.

Shelby shorts:

Walking - https://youtu.be/tMPbW2TZAPk

Relaxing - https://youtube.com/shorts/xMZc187drUA?feature=share
