Shelby's Story

Hi - I'm Shelby! I'm just the sweetest girl. I'm a senior, but appear and act younger than my approx 9.5 years.
I used to have a home, but I was dumped and me and my buddy Dex found ourselves on our own. Not sure why as I'm the bestest girl. It was really scary and stressful. Luckily for me, Dex looked out for me a lot. But this last time, I got hurt really bad, by other dogs, who were also just trying to survive. Thankfully some people came and picked us up and got us to the vet to get fixed up. They say I'll be as good as new! I was so scared with all these new things, but I quickly accepted this new situation. I am warm, safe, have a full belly and lots of kindness and soft pets - I love this new life! I'd like to be adopted with my buddy Dex, but I just love people so much, I'd adapt well without him. I want to be wherever my people are, and follow them around, whether that's around the house, outside, or snoozing on the office floor while my foster mom works. At night, I go to bed with no issues and sleep through the night without a peep. I am house trained, zero accidents, up to date on everything, and even know some tricks and commands.
I'm past that annoying puppy phase, am a great mix of energy and play, but know when its time to chill and appreciate a good nap. I am really food/treat motivated so I'm confident Ill pick up whatever you want to teach me. Ive definitely seen some things in life, so I'm super grateful to have this 2nd chance!
