Shelagh - ADOPTION PENDING!! Beagle Mount Bethel, PA

Meet Shelagh, whose name is Gaelic for blind. Sweet Shelagh was found by a good Samaritan after she had been abandoned and left for dead in the woods. Shelagh was suffering terribly from glaucoma and was blind, and ultimately had surgery to remove her eyes, thereby ending her significant eye pain.

Shelagh is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 26lbs. She is a very sweet, gentle girl who gets around amazingly well without her vision. Shelagh loves humans and dogs of all ages and loves to be pet and cuddled. Her favorite thing is to burrow under a blanket with her person on the couch.

Shelagh is amazing to watch as her nose and ears take over for her eyes. Even her manner of walking by almost marching and using her nose to poke in front of her are fascinating. Her blindness should not dissuade a potential adopter - she is capable of just about everything a sighted dog can do! She is amazing on a leash, learned to use the doggie door here in less than 24 hours, is a total joy to be around, and is a constant reminder of a dog's strength and forgiving nature.

Shelagh is fully vetted, including spay, microchip, all vaccines, and flea/tick/hw preventative. Shelagh's adoption fee is $300.00.
