Sheera's Story

Sheera is a gentle, smart, and loving dog who truly just wants a family to adore and be adored by. She is fully house trained and enjoys being a total couch potato, but she’s also always happy to join her people for walks or little adventures.

At 3 years old, Sheera is a beautiful, wiggly girl with a heart of gold. She absolutely loves people and greets them with full-body wiggles, kisses, and by leaning in for affection. For Sheera, being close to her humans is the best part of the day—whether that means going for a walk, riding in the car, playing together, or cuddling on the couch.

Highlights
• House-trained
• Crate trained (comfortable for 2–5 hours)
• Knows sit, stay, come, paw, lay down, roll over, and more
• Very food motivated and loves training
• Enjoys 20–30 minute walks once or twice a day
• Loves car rides
• Playful, active, and very affectionate

Sheera previously lived with adults, young children, and other dogs. However, based on her current needs, we believe she would thrive best in a home with adults or older teens (13+) to help set her up for success.

She has lived with other dogs before, but she has not had recent dog-to-dog interactions outside the shelter environment. Because of this, any introductions to resident dogs should be slow and structured to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe.

Sheera can get excited on leash and may pull, especially when she sees other dogs. Continued leash training, structured walks, and positive reinforcement will help her continue to succeed. With routine, consistency, and love, Sheera will make an incredibly loyal and joyful companion.

Sheera lived with other dogs in her previous home, and has been neutral to other dogs in other environments. As always, slow proper intros and parallel walks are recommended to set everyone up for success!
