SHEBA**'s Story

My name is Sheba and I came to the shelter when my previous owner could no longer care for me. I arrived to the shelter pretty underweight but with proper diet and some TLC I am doing much better! I have some broken teeth, and some possible arthritis (common in older dogs) - but I don't let this get me down! Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive, but don't worry - OCAS will cover the cost of my treatment! Ask the front for more information! Foster insights on Sheba: We took Sheba for 2 storms (11 days). Sheba is a friendly, playful dog. She loves running around our backyard. She loves attention and especially loves if people give her pats and rubs. She acts like a cat sometimes by trying to rub up against us and other objects like a couch as if she were a cat. Even though she likes attention she is happy to stay in her area of our house without adults for 4 hours at a time. She did fine having a bath. We provided a crate for her, but she only went in there to get a pillow and bring it out for herself. She took her medicine fine with the aid of greenies pill pockets (we never tried without them). Sheba seems like such a happy, LOVING dog and can be playful, but also independent and can sit or rest on her bed for long periods of time. She is super friendly and is super well behaved, no jumping or barking at all, just wants to be loved. a lot of energy for her age but overall a normal amount of energy and joy. She is just the sweetest and loved to do anything with people.
