Sheba's Story

Hi, I'm Sheba! Before we meet, I think it's important you know a little about my story.

For the first six years of my life, it was just me and my person. When they unexpectedly passed away in early 2024, my entire world changed. I was left alone in the home for nearly a week before help arrived, and Animal Control brought me to Animal Care Society. When I arrived, I was overwhelmed, anxious, confused, and overweight. Everything was new and scary, but with time and patience, I started learning how to feel safe again.

I was adopted and my adopter truly cared about me. After two years together, though, we realized it wasn't the right fit, and I've found myself back at ACS waiting for the forever home I still deserve.

New situations and change can be difficult for me, but consistency, structure, and patience help me thrive. I'm a fully trained girl who loves having a routine, mental challenges, and a person who will continue helping me build confidence. Once I trust you, I am incredibly loyal and devoted. I may need a little more time and understanding than some dogs, but the bond you build with me will be worth it.

I'm spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. I'm looking for someone willing to see past my past and help me finally find my forever home.

Animal Care Society Inc's Adoption Policy
Visit our web site at http://www.animalcaresociety.org/ Why Adopt from ACS? One of the best things about life is that it’s full of second chances! When people adopt a new family member from a shelter they are giving a pet a second chance in life! Many folks go to a breeder for a specific type of pet but those same animals can be found at the Animal Care Society! And if there isn’t such an animal at our shelter, ACS staffers are happy to refer interested parties to the RIGHT breed rescue group! The pets available at the Animal Care Society are special. Careful selection, constant socialization, diligent loving daily care and even hand raised kittens and puppies make our candidates for adoption a premium in the shelter world. While we are still a shelter, we make every effort to make a cat or dog feel at home here! It goes a long way in deferring some of the kennel fatigue experienced by shelter animals.
