Shazam's Story

Shazam is a 1 year old Husky—goofy, energetic, vocal, and full of life. There isn’t a mean bone in his body; he’s simply a dog who never had the chance to learn basic manners before landing in the shelter. He was called “too mouthy” or “too much,” and that ended him up on the E-List at MCACC, but all we saw was an enthusiastic, unpolished husky who needed guidance, structure, and an outlet for his big personality. We are thankful to have found a foster who could open their home to so much love and energy!

Shazam has settled quickly into his foster home. He’s a high-energy guy who loves to run, play fetch and can never solve enough doggy puzzles. He walks well on leash with minimal pulling, though he can get excited when he sees other dogs or large vehicles. He’s playful and social with other dogs—especially large, energetic ones—and currently lives with another husky. They could play for HOURS! Like many smart, energetic dogs, Shazam can get bored if his needs aren’t met. He has a tendency to explore the trash or chew on non-dog approved items. He does well in a crate, which helps manage his separation anxiety and keeps him safe when he can’t be supervised.

Shazam would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his energy and continue his training. He’d do well with an active individual, a family with teenage kids (13+), and would definitely love some doggy siblings. Cats are unknown. As with a lot of Huskies, a secure yard is a must—he’s a jumper and loves to chat with anyone passing by. Shazam isn’t “too much”—he’s just waiting for the right home that understands huskies and is ready to channel his energy into adventure, training, and fun. With the right match, he’s going to be an incredible, loyal companion who brings nonstop joy and laughs to his future family.

Adoption Application: https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/
