Sharpool

Sharpool entered South LA-Chesterfield Shelter as a stray, and sadly, he wasn't claimed. On November 24th, we welcomed him as a Frosted Face. Sharpool is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs 9 lbs.<br/><br/>After spending time with this little cuddle bug, one of our volunteers joked that his name should be Loverboy instead of Sharpool! Even though he's shy, he absolutely melts when he's held and snuggled. <br/><br/>Sharpool has been living with a foster family since mid-December, which is helping him decompress in the comfort of a calm home environment. He has made steady progress and continues to blossom. Sharpool has fully recovered from being recently neutered.<br/><br/>Sharpool loves mealtime and gets very excited about treats! He has no resource-guarding behaviors and is very food-motivated, which helps with training. A smart cookie, he learned his foster home's routine quickly. Potty training was a breeze using a doggie door-he knows to potty outside and lets you know when he needs to go. He also responds to his nickname - Scooter!<br/><br/>Sharpool is playful but calm, with a low-to-moderate activity level. He enjoys wandering the yard but loves being indoors, lounging on one of the comfy dog beds around the house and observing daily life. He likes playing with toys, sleeps through the night, and is very quiet-he almost never barks, even when other neighborhood dogs are barking or when deliveries arrive at the door. He has no trouble climbing stairs but does not jump on furniture. <br/><br/>Sharpool gets along very well with other dogs and immediately bonded with the 9-year-old male Shiba Inu in his foster home. He often looks to his canine companions for cues, watching how they react before deciding how to respond himself. A forever home with another friendly, confident dog would be ideal.<br/><br/>Sharpool's foster family continues to work with him on his fear of new people.
