Shamus's Story
Meet Shamus, a resilient three-year-old silky terrier mix likely with spaniel in him who weighs 18 pounds and originally came to TRACS from Texas with his buddy Scooter. Shamus was recently adopted with Scooter, but he has unfortunately been returned to the shelter without his companion. Although he has experienced some past trauma in his life, he was starting to come around when he was adopted. His return has done him some damage and he needs a very understanding family to work with him. He is cage aggressive and much better out of his kennel than in it. He is still very wary of people and would do well with a person who would just let him hang with them and get used to them and not try to push him too fast. Shamus is completely potty-trained, enjoys spending time outside, and is a pretty quiet fellow overall. So a fenced in yard would be a great deal for him. He is already neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200 or donation of choice and we are willing to foster him for a bit of time to someone who could work with him. He really does deserve an opportunity. If you can provide him with the loving forever home please submit an application on our website at www.pet-tracs.com.
