Who’s a lucky boy? Meet ☘️Shamrock! ☘️<br/>This handsome hunk finds himself in need of a home after his owner passed away unexpectedly. Currently in a foster home in the Gig Harbor area, Shamrock is checking all the boxes. ✅ Friendly, eager to please, well mannered, loves car rides, and wants to be your bestboi. <br/><br/>We didn’t get a ton of history with Shamrock, due to the unfortunate situation. The late owner’s family took the other dog in the home but didn’t want Shamrock so some kind neighbors were caring for him. The neighbors loved him, but have 5 dogs of their own and didn’t have room for another. I was told he was 13 months old, but in calling every vet within a 20-mile radius I got bupkis for vaccination history on him. Then, I ended up getting a little info when the neighbors told me the name of the trainer he’d been to. I called the trainer and learned that the trainer first met with Shamrock and his owner when Shamrock was 9 months old, in December of 2024. And counting backwards 9 months I now understand the unusual name – he must have been born on St. Patrick’s Day 2024! So he’s coming up on his 2nd birthday.<br/><br/>We got him all up to date on his vaccines, and are working on some itchy skin issues, but this guy is a happy boy. He gets along great with the foster home’s two dogs, and absolutely ADORES his foster mom, at her feet while she works during the day and loves attention. He is friendly with everyone he’s met, and was good at the vet too. We’re getting him scheduled for his neuter surgery soon. Shamrock is good on leash and knows some obedience. He's crate trained but it's not his favorite place. He sleeps quietly/comfortably in the laundry room at night at his foster home (prefers this to the crate). <br/><br/>☘️Shamrock, Rocky to his friends, had been living outside for a while before he came to foster and needed a refresher on house training. He’s doing well now and is eager to please. He’s loves playing with toys and loves car rides (favorite thing!).
