Hello! I'm Shakira and my hips don't lie. I'm 1 year old and I love, love people. I'm looking for a home where I can be an integral part of your family. I will give you kisses any chance I get. My foster mom says I'm the nicest dog she's ever met (way nicer than her fur kids).<br/><br/>I am potty-trained and crate-trained. I'm food motivated and will run into my crate at mealtime to wait for my meals. My foster mom uses my food motivation to get in a little daily training, so currently I know sit (and sientate - I'm sort of bilingual), come (aqui), shake hands - both of them (dame la pata y otra pata), lay down (abajo), crate, out (like when my foster mom doesn't want me in the kitchen), off (like furniture if I'm not supposed to be on) and I'm working on stay. I'm calm for baths, ear cleanings, nail trimming and getting my behind wiped after I poop. The Dogwalker that comes by when foster mom goes to work also says I'm well behaved.<br/><br/>I get along with my two foster bulldog siblings, and the three of us like to sunbathe outside daily. While I'm a young pup with energy, I've also learned the ways of my bulldog siblings, so I'm good at being a lounge lizard, too. I've also been to the homes of my foster mom's friends, and I get along with their pups as well. So far, I've been around older kids, but not young ones. I've only been around dogs, so I'm not sure how I am with cats and other critters.<br/><br/>My foster mom will send the rescue some of my training videos, so if you're interested, please ask to see them.<br/><br/>Also, if you're an UT alum, I hope you noticed my burnt orange coloring and my longhorn logo on my neck!<br/><br/>Shakira is a female Pitbull mix with an estimated date of birth of 1/1/25. As of 3/21/26, she weighs about 40 lbs.
