Shadow-UPDATE

Shadow is a great little dog who weighs only around 7 pounds. Due to how small he is as well as how fragile, we would prefer a home without children living there. He is fantastic around children, but he is so small and wants to always be with you it is a fear that he will be stepped on or sat on by a young child under 10. Shadow doesn't understand that young children don't always watch where they are sitting, jumping, or running to. He does tend to become vocal around dogs much bigger than he is when they come running at him. He will bark and run at them as they do this so if you have a bigger dog, that is something that may be a concern as well. Shadow also has allergies to Brewers Yeast,Barley, fish meat, Pork, Venison, Peas, and several other ingredients. Shadow will have to be on a special diet to control these allergies otherwise he loses his hair. He is also protective of the home and will bark when he hears a noise outside which is a good thing, since his bark is not a little dog bark, but has more of a fear factor to it if a stranger is around. Shadow made it clear right from the beginning that a lap or next to you is his preferred place to be. He is your typical small lap dog that always wants to be near his humans. He does not have a preference of a male vs. female- he loves you as long as you love him. He also chooses to sleep next to you in bed at night. He is a great about choosing a spot and staying there, but it tends to be up close to his humans. <br/><br><br><br/>Shadow is a fantastic little dog, but he is just that- a little tiny dog. He gets cold super quick in this winter weather so he can only be out long enough to do his business and then needs to come right back in so he doesn't get cold. He does have sweaters and jackets, but it is still too cold for him right now to be outside any length of time. He does well with his foster's cats, other dog, and toddler son, but prefers to just sit on your lap and relax.<br/><br><br><br/><br/><br><br> Shadow is an adorable 4 year old Yorkie (mix??) who was turned in to a shelter in KY because his elderly owner went into a nursing home. He is a new arrival to Rescued Treasures so we are still learning about him. He is fostered with cats, another dog, and a toddler and does well with everyone. Shadow is a happy go lucky little guy who is just happy getting loved.
