“No animal I know of can consistently be more of a friend and companion than a dog.” This reminds us of Shadow! If you are looking for a medium sized dog, he could be the one! Shadow is six years old and weighs 53 pounds.<br/><br/>Why we love him: Shadow has the tenderest of hearts and the gentlest of souls. He is so grateful for attention and affection, and we truly enjoy his company. He's a wonderful cuddle buddy!<br/><br/>Lucky Shadow spent some time at the home of one of our dedicated volunteers who reports: "Shadow is such a happy, friendly guy. He loves my 10 year old dog and always wants to play and do zoomies together. True to his name Shadow wants to be nearby. He would prefer to be on the couch with his head in your lap but he is happy on a dog bed on the floor as long as he is in the same room. I am amazed at his total lack of mischief, no shoe or sock kidnappings not even an overturned trash can. Shadow's most grievous offense has been sleeping on the couch when I'm not home. He is very smart and knows sit and shake if you have a treat in hand (he thinks a piece of kibble is a treat). It shouldn't be difficult to teach him lots of new tricks. He is fully house trained and tells you when he needs to go outside."<br/><br/>Shadow is a well mannered companion on daily walks and also enjoys outings in the fenced yard. Once he is done, he likes to relax and chill out with you. He is a wonderful lap dog, and the best cuddle buddy!<br/><br/>Shadow has had such fun playing with one of his shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.<br/><br/>He is going to be such a loyal part of his new family!
