When he first arrived, he had no potty training—but he’s come a long way and is now doing great! He’s a smart little guy who thrives with consistency, structure, and clear communication.<br/><br/>Let’s be upfront: Shadow has boundaries, and he needs an adopter who will respect them. He may bite if pushed beyond his comfort zone, but he does not act unpredictably. With people who understand and honor his limits, he has shown that he can live successfully and peacefully—his foster family has had zero aggression issues for over two months.<br/><br/>Shadow does best in a calm, adult home (a single person or couple) where he can be the center of attention. He is not a good match for young children or anyone who struggles to read and respect canine body language.<br/><br/>This little guy prefers to be treated like a “big dog”—he loves exercise and needs it daily to stay balanced and happy. Shadow enjoys running לצד a bike, playing fetch, and even attends doggy daycare twice a week to burn off energy. Mental and physical stimulation are key to his success.<br/><br/>Shadow is currently taking Fluoxetine to help manage his anxiety, and he should continue on it until his vet advises otherwise. He may also need extra support during grooming or vet visits, including possible mild sedation or a muzzle, as these situations can be stressful for him.<br/><br/>He can coexist with other dogs but tends to prefer doing his own thing rather than actively socializing with them.<br/><br/>Once the toys are put away and the day winds down, Shadow reveals his softer side—he becomes a loving, affectionate companion who just wants to snuggle up with his person.<br/><br/>Ideal Home for Shadow:<br/>• Adult-only household (no young children) <br/>• Patient, dog-savvy owner who respects boundaries <br/>• Active lifestyle with daily exercise <br/>• Willingness to continue training, structure, and medication support <br/>• A home where he can have his own space and routine <br/><br/>Shadow isn’t for everyone—but for the right person, he will be an incredibly loyal, fun, and deeply loving companion.<br/><br/>Please keep in mind that a family pet takes work and dedication, as well as many years of commitment.
