Shadow's Story
Meet Shadow!
Shadow will be celebrating his 5th birthday on September 6th, and he’s ready to find his forever home!
This handsome German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix is the whole package—loyal, smart, and loving.
Shadow’s Best Qualities:
100% housetrained and crate-trained
Gentle with children (including babies!) and good with smaller dogs
Friendly with strangers when properly introduced
Calm when left alone, not a barker, and fireworks don’t faze him
Rides beautifully in the car and walks well on leash
Loves playing ball (pro tip: have two handy since he doesn’t always bring one back, lol)
Knows several commands: sit, stay, break, leave it
Big fan of treats, peanut butter, attention, and outdoor adventures

Ideal Home for Shadow:
Shadow would thrive with an active person or family who can give him plenty of exercise and enrichment. A tall fence is a must, or someone committed to keeping him engaged with walks and playtime.

Other Pets:
Shadow is fine around smaller dogs. He has done okay around cats in a vet’s office, but tends to get too interested when he spots them outdoors—so a cat-free home may be best, or one willing to carefully manage introductions.

Reason for Rehoming:
Shadow’s family is relocating to Seattle, where housing that allows large dogs is difficult to secure. They love him deeply and want to ensure he finds a safe, happy new home.

Increasingly, we are doing FOSTER TO ADOPT options!
That’s where you and puppers make sure you’re a good fit for one another before signing on “the dotted line”….. it’s a win-win for everyone! Just ask your adoption counselor about how this works. If you are interested in adopting this or another POPP dog, please complete our short adoption questionnaire found at: https://www.popptricities.org/adopt/adoption-questionnaire-canine/

If you have any questions. please E-mail us at dogsadopt@popptricities.org.

Our puppy or dog adoption fee of $300 includes a lovable, non-judgmental canine companion who has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped prior to adoption.
Your adoption fee helps support POPP and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.
