Seven Lab mix puppies's Story

Seven Lab mix puppies -- born on 05 Dec 2025 -- 6 boys & 1 girl

Background.
Mama and her seven puppies (six boys and one girl) were surrendered to us from their central valley owner. They were born in a backyard on December 5th and had been living in a wooden box. We believe the puppies' dad is a Lab/Great Pyrenees mix. Mama is a Lab mix -- she might just have some Great Pyrenees in her too.

The Great Escape... from their whelping box -- https://youtu.be/ghtCr9fUX3I

Up close with the puppies -- https://youtu.be/xMZQ6OSRsY8

Mama Gracie and her seven 24-day-old puppies -- https://youtu.be/7-Gmi8ExqVE

Puppy chow-time on Christmas Day -- https://youtu.be/j1G0ff3kkE4

What their foster says.
Mama "Gracie" has been nursing her seven charges relentlessly and they have been growing steadily. They eat and they sleep... they eat and they sleep... The puppies are playing with each other... and are able to escape their whelping box. Cute beyond belief. We just started them on esbilac/kibble mush.

What their Rescue Rep says.
We expect to wean the puppies when they are 5-6 weeks old. We will be adopting out the puppies when they are ~8-weeks-old -- around 30 January. Looking for adopters who are going in eyes wide open -- regarding puppy care... and juvenile dog handling and training and management and fun. Gracie is also up for adoption -- see her separate listing.

More of what their Rescue Rep says.
Adopting a young puppy is much like having a newborn baby in the home: very demanding for care and attention, can't be left alone much, cries a lot -- especially at night when you want to sleep. Eat, poop/pee, play, sleep... repeat, repeat, repeat. Puppy-raising is also filled with joy and fun. Young puppies have sharp teeth and tend to go for human toes and arms when available. Young puppies quickly grow up and become big rowdy juveniles that need lots of exercise and structure and patience from their humans.

Several puppy handouts from Marin Humane are fabulous reads:
Puppy World -- https://marinhumane.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Puppy-World.pdf

Puppy Health -- https://marinhumane.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Puppy-Health.pdf

Puppy Socialization -- https://marinhumane.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Puppy-Socialization.pdf

Medical.
The puppies appear to be quite healthy. They will be seen by a vet when they are ~7 weeks old... at which time they will receive their first (of three) DHPP vaccinations. The puppies will need to be quarantined in their home (and backyard) until late March when they receive their final DHPP vaccination... to ensure they remain safe from parvo and other ailments. They have received their first deworming.

The puppies (and mama Gracie) are currently located in: Placerville.

A little about Great Pyrenees. Great Pyrenees are NOT Labs. GPs are often used as livestocking-guarding dogs (LGDs) so they can be quite independent, pushy, aloof -- and not easily obedience-trained. Often resting (lazy) during the day, active (want to be outside) at night.

Check out https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/great-pyrenees/ and https://nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed/.

If you might want to adopt one of the puppies, please contact Rescue Rep Dave at david.c.ely@sbcglobal.net.
