Serenity's Story

Serenity has made it to the adoption page! She is an amazing sweet girl estimated at 3.5 years old. Her background is from a puppy mill breeding situation, and she was released to us along with 3 other frenchies. She is a bigger girl weighing about 23lbs but with her length and height could gain another pound or two.
Serenity is sweet but very timid and scared, she is slowly coming out of her shell. At first we had to chase or try and trap her with treats to get her to come into the house or to get in her crate and eat. While she is slowly starting to trust humans and believe in them she is still guarded and needs an adopter with patience and understanding. Serenity loves her foster siblings and relies on them to show her what dogs do as a member of a family. She gets along with other dogs but will require transition into a new home.
This girl is mostly potty trained but of course will have accidents in a new home especially with other dogs, Serenity is learning very quickly how to walk on a leash and use the doggie door. Continuing with consistent training is key to her success and she is very treat driven. While others down their food immediately she takes her time and free feeds in her crate or when she is hungry.
Serenity went to the spay neuter clinic and was denied because an AV block popped up so she was spay at our primary vet and more testing was done on her heart. Her AV block is a common heart condition causing irregular heartbeat; and does not require medication. Her ears need cleaned weekly and she will also need her paws cleaned consistently and a probiotic given. She is a very yeasty pup!
Her ideal home will most definitely have to be a patient and understanding adopter, with a consistent environment with a lot of love to help her transition and build confidence. This person must provide a gentle and stable routine. With that being said we cant stress this enough, because she is doing so well in her foster moms home that will have to continue or it can be detrimental to all the hard work Serenity has put in to living a normal life as a family member.
Watching Serenity go from being completely scared to learning to trust humans is a rewarding experience that demonstrates her resilience. She needs a loving home where she can continue to grow and feel safe. Vaccinated, microchipped, spay and vet cleared. Apply on our site $1000.00
