Serendipity's Story

The cost of happiness in a kennel is high. Serendipity had to pay the price on day one. Poor girl already was neglected and underweight when she arrived and now she has happy tail. Life in a cone is hard, harder so at the shelter. Serendipity was sweet before the cone and still while in it. She is happy to cling to our legs for comfort or sit for all the treats we have. Serendipity was abandoned once by people that promised to care for her. Help us make sure that never happens to Serendipity again.

Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.

All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).

We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.

If you have any questions, please email caccpetfinder@gmail.com

A303889
