Señor's Story

Hello! I am Señor, a distinguished senior dog (estimated to be around 13 years old) with shaggy long brown, black, and white fur. I’m medium-sized (34 lb). I’ve already been dewormed, vaccinated, and neutered through the adoption program.

I was rescued from a busy boulevard where someone saw me wandering with an injured paw and refused to let me meet the same fate as so many other dogs who have disappeared on the pavement.

Someone identified me and reached out, saying I used to live at a business, but I wasn’t well cared for. Others said they had reported me as a possible lost dog for several days in a row. My temporary home took me for a check-up where they found out that my paw injury is old so I now have a bit of a limp. After that, they gave me a nice bath, and I came out looking like a movie star. I still walk with a limp because of the injury, but that doesn't stop from running when nature calls!

I went through a trial period with a family who adopted me but there were a few issues. It turns out that I can be a bit jealous of other male dogs. I have no problem with female dogs though, and I'm also not aggressive. I've been waiting for somene else to notice me since then, but I don't lose hope. I can be around cats (if I have to), I won't hurt them but I don't go out of my way to be around them.

My favorite thing to do, to be honest, is to sleep and rest, but I do enjoy going out for walks from time to time. When it's hot and I'm in front of a fan with the wind in my hair, it's heaven to me! I live totally indoors but I do like going out for fresh air and resting under a shade.

If you're retired or work from home, I'd be an excellent companion!

I hope to find a loving and responsible family that will take good care of me on my late stage of life.

Gente Por Los Animales's Adoption Policy
Once the adopter's information is submitted – name, phone number, address, email, and the name of the animal they wish to adopt – a volunteer from the organization will contact them within the next three business days, either electronically or by phone, to conduct an interview via video call in order to verify that the requirements are met and to complete the adoption form. If the application is approved, we will schedule the delivery of the dog or cat to begin their two-week trial period, allowing the adopting family to spend time with the animal and decide if they want to adopt them permanently. All animals are delivered dewormed, vaccinated, and sterilized. A recovery fee of 20 USD per animal is requested for delivery in Mexicali, Baja California. We can also cross the border to El Centro, Calexico, Heber, or Yuma, but in this case, it is necessary to place a microchip in the dogs, which incurs an additional cost of 25 USD. Eventually, we can transport the animals to San Diego or Los Angeles, but a 40 USD transportation fee is requested.
