Name: Selah

Nicknames: Si-Si, Princess Wiggles

Age: 8-9 months (as of 6/29/19)

Activity Level: High, very active

Things I do in my free time: Play, play some more, chew a toy for a second and then PLAAAAYYY

Things I know: Sit and lay down. I understand that when the crate’s door opens that I need to go in with no commands. I know that sharing is caring when it comes to toys! I understand my name – Selah or Si-Si, and then when it’s said that I need to come. I know that kitties are a little skiddish around hyper doggies, so I run up to them, stop and do my best to stay calm so they say hi to me. I know that potty happens outdoors, I do not go inside or in my crate.

Things I am learning: I'm learning a few things to help me be a better adult dog! Right now I struggle with understanding other dogs, like when they tell me they've had enough or dont want to play. I love playing so much that when I'm growled or corrected I keep going and that can be an issue one day. My foster parents are teaching me BREAK as a word to use to get away from another dog and stop playing. I'm slowly understanding that command, and the hope is that this will keep me out of trouble as I learn other dogs languages.

Kids: I recommend being on leash and cautious around kids. I have high engery and I sometimes jump on people when I excited (learning to not jump)

Dogs: very friendly when introduced properly! As mentioned before, I dont understand dog language so I should be monitored at all times with other dogs

Cats: I really like cats!!! I do run up to them, which they find scary... but I'm gentle when I say hi. Now that I know if I stand still they'll come to me I love licking their ears and faces. (I speak cat language better?? Well they do smack me in the face pretty hard...)

Size: 48 lbs as of 6/29

Car rides: if you give me a toy to chew on I do well, I think they're fun

Additional Info from foster pawrents: Selah is a very sweet girl! She is smart with learning and training. Shes come very far in just a few weeks. She is working on leash manners and is pinch trained, shes fantastic in her crate- crated while we sleep and during the work day, she loves all of our current animals. In a home with a Male and female pit bull that are 70lbs and 2 cats.

Selah can be shy when meeting people in new places. So confidence building is needed, but if people allow her to come say hi first, she warms up very quickly.

She is high energy! Always moving, playing and doing something. She lays down to chew a toys for only a few minutes and shes onto the next thing. She will come give us a snuggle super quick, but they dont last long. She would be great in a home that is active or interested in doing an active training program with her(example agility).

Overall, shes a fantastic dog! Just some small things to work on, but with how smart she is shes going to be a rockstar! If Selah sounds like the pup for you, please apply at www.mnpitbull.com.
