Scruff's Story

Scruff is the kind of puppy people swear they’ll “wait until summer” for… and then they meet him and all that planning goes straight out the window. Born 12/10/25, sitting at 10 lbs as of 4/10, and headed for a practical ~25 lbs adult size, he’s the definition of an old soul wrapped in wirehair and low‑shedding charm.

He watches before he acts. He thinks before he leaps. He reads the room like he’s been here before.

Scruff grew up in a foster home that actually teaches puppies something, so he comes with real skills:

Crate trained

Pee‑pad trained

Knows “go potty outside”

Uses the dog door

Socialized with dogs of all sizes, cats, and people

Rides calmly, plays kindly, cuddles deeply

He’s playful when you invite him to be, and a couch‑companion the second you sit down. He’s the puppy who settles at your feet while you work, checks in with soft eyes, and curls up like he’s been your dog for years.

Scruff will need the same thing every good puppy needs: positive reinforcement, gentle redirection, and a human who actually follows through. Give him that, and he’ll grow into the kind of adult dog people brag about.

Placement Standards:
Homes with unaltered domesticated pets are not eligible.
All adopters are vetted for responsible placement.

If you’re looking for a thoughtful, low‑shedding, people‑oriented companion with a calm center and a playful streak, Scruff is ready for his match.
