SCRAPPY DOO $425's Story
Scrappy is 5 months old now… and somehow still waiting.

She’s small—under 20 pounds—and easy to scoop right up into your arms… which is exactly where she wants to be. The moment you hold her, she doesn’t try to wiggle away. She melts. Completely. Like she’s finally found the place she’s been searching for.

There is something different about Scrappy. Not in a way that pushes you away—but in a way that pulls you in. A softness in her eyes… a quietness in the way she loves… like she feels things just a little deeper.

She is crate-trained and does well with potty habits when kept on a schedule. She’s still a little unsure on a leash, but she looks to her person for reassurance and comfort. She wants to trust you—she just needs someone willing to gently show her the way.

They say she’s a lab mix, but she’s petite and looks more like a little puggle-type mix… whatever she is, she is absolutely precious.

Scrappy loves being around children and is happiest when she’s close to her people. She doesn’t need the spotlight… she just needs someone to notice her.

She does have some special needs, which means her path might look a little different. She may need a little extra patience, a little extra understanding… but what she gives back is something you don’t come across every day. Her love feels deeper. More intentional. Like she knows what it means to need someone.

And maybe that’s why she’s still here.

Waiting for the one person who won’t pass her by.
The one who will see her not for what’s different… but for everything that makes her extraordinary.

Scrappy isn’t just looking for a home.
She’s waiting for someone to choose her.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$375+tax for ages 4-7
$275+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs. Thank you for considering Lucky Mutts Rescue for your next furry family member!
