Whether you're heading to the lake, hiking a trail, tossing a ball in the backyard, or loading up the car for a weekend adventure, Scrappy is already waiting by the door.<br/><br/>One thing you should know about Scrappy...<br/><br/> He LOVES water!<br/><br/>Pools? Yes.The hose? Absolutely.A puddle? Even better.<br/><br/>If water is involved, Scrappy is all in and happy as can be!<br/><br/>This smart boy already knows an impressive list of commands: Sit Down Wait Say your prayers Shake (both paws!)<br/><br/>He's incredibly food motivated—even a few pieces of kibble will have his full attention—which makes him an absolute joy to train. He's also toy motivated and loves learning new things, making the possibilities for this young boy endless.<br/><br/>His favorite game? Fetch!<br/><br/>He'll happily retrieve tennis balls, toys, or even a simple stick he finds in the yard. He's currently polishing up his "drop it" command and catches on quickly because he's so eager to please.<br/><br/>Scrappy rides wonderfully in the car and jumps right in, ready for whatever adventure comes next.<br/><br/>About 12 months old <br/>Approximately 45 pounds<br/>Potty trained <br/>Crate trained <br/>Great with other dogs <br/>Loves everyone he meets <br/>Extremely intelligent <br/>Food and toy motivated <br/>Active, fun-loving, and affectionate<br/><br/>Because he's still a young doodle with lots of puppy enthusiasm, Scrappy sometimes gets a little too excited when greeting new people and may jump up to say hello. He's learning that calm behavior earns affection and is doing wonderfully with his transition leash and pressure-point training.<br/><br/>He also does well around cats but can become excited and want to chase them when they run. He has never shown aggression toward cats and doesn't want to hurt them—he simply thinks they're part of the game. For that reason, we'd recommend either a home without cats or one with an experienced owner who can continue helping him learn appropriate manners around feline friends.<br/><br/>Scrappy truly has the personality to do just about anything. He'd thrive with an active family, someone who enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, swimming, or simply wants a best friend who is always ready to join in the fun.<br/><br/>With his intelligence, eagerness to learn, outgoing personality, and loving heart, Scrappy is the kind of dog who will become your shadow, your adventure partner, and your very best friend..<br/><br/>If you're ready for a loyal sidekick who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and love you with his whole heart, Scrappy can't wait to meet you!<br/><br/>Scrappy's tax-deductible adoption fee is $600. He will come with a leash, collar, two bowls, a toy, some food, and copies of all medical and microchip information. His adoption fee helps cover his veterinary care and allows us to continue saving dogs in need.
