Scout's Story

Scout is a handsome lab-mix hunk of a boy who desires to start a new chapter filled with love, trust and life-long companionship. He looks forward to each new day to play in the yard with the volunteers and be goofy! Scout loves toys with funny noises, the sillier the sound the more he loves it! He will chase it, throw it in the air, and bark at it! He also enjoys a game of fetch and is always up for a walk!

One of Scout’s most prized accomplishments is the results he’s had so far with his weight loss program. He is proud and going strong to reach his healthy goal. In addition to getting exercise outside in the yard and going for walks in the neighborhood, he eagerly looks forward to going to his water hydrotherapy sessions. Not only does he to have fun and feels challenged in a good way, it reminds him that his well being is important, and matters to the folks at The Buddy Foundation.

While in his kennel, Scout is always respectful of his belongings and space, he’d never think to chew his bedding or blankets. He always keeps his kennel clean and tidy, while doing his business outside during walks. At mealtime, the volunteers are cautious of his space since he has a tendency to guard (be protective) his food bowl. His caretakers believe that with training in a loving home, this behavior can be managed.

During his quiet, zen time in his kennel, Scout is mindfully manifesting the home and family he desires. Mostly, a simply life, where he can enjoy the outdoors with his strong walking companion(s). He’s looking forward to having that special spot to hangout near his family when watching TV, and during quiet times. Since Scout is a big, strong boy, he would do best being your one and only in an adult home. A fenced in yard is something he hopes for and would be a great bonus.

More than anything, Scout wants to be by his family’s side where he will feel loved, cared for and cherished. In return, he will always be your confidant. The one you can tell all your deepest secrets and “stuff” to, knowing they will be kept sacred, between the two of you. And the best gift is, you will always be his hero and will be loved unconditionally by him.
