Scout's Story

This handsome red merle is Scout, a two year old 40 lb male with a docked tail. He is up to date on shots and is currently looking for a new home after his family came to the tough decision that they are not able to meet his needs as a high energy Aussie with a desire to run and explore.

Scout is an energetic pup who loves to run and explore. He needs a home that is active and able to provide him with physical and mental stimulation. He is currently living with three young children and does well. He can be protective of his home to other dogs who don't live there and come onto the property without invitation. However, in neutral settings or after proper introductions, he does great with other dogs, engaging in play and demonstrates appropriate social skills. He loves his family with his whole being, so being a part of a family that will include him on adventures is a must for this fun-loving boy.

Scout does have a bit of wanderlust, so has to be watched when off lead, but will come when called.

The details:

Need fence: No, but does need to be monitored or he will take himself exploring

Good with dogs: Yes but isn't afraid to stand his ground to strange dogs on his property

Good with cats: Unknown

Good with kids: Yes

All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers.
