Scout #25's Story

🐾 HOW TO ADOPT: The fastest way to start is to submit an adoption application directly (labs4rescue.com/adopt). Please use our official website rather than the Petfinder "Start your Inquiry" button.

Meet Scout — a handsome male Yellow Lab, about 2–3 years old and 62 lbs of pure joy. Smart and well-mannered, Scout knows lots of commands (sit, come, stay, down, spin, middle, play dead, give paw) and has excellent recall. He’s active and loves adventures like hiking, kayaking, and swimming, yet he’s not overly hyper — just the right mix of energy and calm.

Scout is social and gentle: great with other dogs, cats, and farm animals, and raised with children so he adores them. He’s happy, playful, and friendly, and comes fully trained — house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. Scout has been very loved, but a change in family circumstances means he’s unfortunately spending long hours crated each day. He’s ready for a home where he can get the activity, companionship, and love he deserves.

QUESTIONS: For additional information about Scout please email Deb Cook Keavy: deb.cook.keavy@labs4rescue.org

BEFORE YOU APPLY: Please review our "Adopt a Lab" page (labs4rescue.com/adopt) and our Sample Adoption Contract.
