In the past, every day in a shelter, someone walked past Scotty. <br/>Maybe it was because he’s a black dog. Black dogs are overlooked more than any other, lost in the shadows of a kennel. Maybe it was because he’s a senior, and most people hurry past the gray muzzle looking for a puppy.<br/>So Scotty waited. And waited. For far too long.<br/>Then he came to a loving home with a foster family, and everything changed. <br/>Scotty learned that a crate can be a cozy bed, and he trots in for a treat. He learned that squeaky toys are the best thing ever invented. He learned that he’s allowed to follow his person from room to room just to be close. He even found a four-legged friend to share it all with. And on leash walks, he’s doing great.<br/>He’s sweet. He’s loyal. He’s housebroken. And he’s still cautious with new people at first, because he’s spent a long time waiting for someone to choose him.<br/>The odds were stacked against Scotty. But he’s still here, still wagging, and still ready to love with his whole heart. <br/>All he needs is one person to see what everyone else missed.
