Scotty's Story

Meet Scotty, a 14-month old Labrador Retriever / Staffordshire mix around 40 pounds. He is a handsome little fella'! He makes up for his small body by having a huge personality. He welcomes attention from people and dogs alike, he loves to reach up and get a good hug and seems to be smiling all the while. He has a beautiful, silky, all black coat, attentive hazel brown eyes, and a unique black and pink tongue. He is very eager to please and has wonderful eye contact, so he should really take well to additional training. He has a strong, athletic build that he loves to show off by running and playing in the yard. But what he loves most of all... after a good run, he wants to snuggle up on the couch getting belly rubs. Scotty can sometimes play rough with other dogs, in NO way aggressive, but as a young pup he just gets excited. He is VERY fond of his girlfriend, Penny.

The Labrador Retriever is a sweet-faced, lovable, adoring, outgoing, and high-spirited companion. Their eyes glimmer with kindliness and their tail seems to be forever signaling the breed's innate eagerness. Labs are famously friendly. They are companionable housemates who bond with the whole family, and they socialize well with neighbor dogs and humans alike. But don't mistake their easy going personality for low energy: The Lab is an enthusiastic athlete that requires lots of exercise, like swimming and marathon games of fetch, to keep physically and mentally fit.
