SCOTTIE's Story

This big boy is so sweet, so loyal, and so silly. He has somehow become our longest-term dog resident, but we just know he's going to make some lucky person very happy, and they'll wonder how anyone could have ever left him in the first place. Scottie loves hard, and he wants to be your BFF, your right hand man, your road trip buddy, you name it. He's the kind of dog who thinks his person hangs the moon and that the sun rises and sets with them. Scottie is house-trained and is a perfect angel when left unattended in the office. He has catlike behaviors in that he seeks out the spot on the floor where the sunlight is hitting, and that's where he wants to lay. He has enjoyed playing with other dogs here at the shelter and is currently living with one in his foster home. Bring yours to meet him! Unfortunately, Scottie does not seem to enjoy the presence of cats. So why's he been here so long? We think his size might be part of it. He's about 70 pounds, strong on a leash, and is still learning that jumping on someone is not the way to say I love you! He also needs a home without children, because he can easily knock them over. Teens and adults are what he's looking for! Scottie is truly a diamond in the rough and has so much to offer his person. You can be that person! He's currently relaxing in a foster home, but he'd love to meet you! Contact our adoptions team to schedule a meet and greet, and get ready to fall in love with Scottie! Call 301-733-2060 option 3 or email adoptions@hswcmd.org. Check me out on my episode of The Pawcast!
