Scott's Story

Get ready for a little ball of energy who can turn playtime into a full-blown comedy show! I'm Scott, a 16 week old Australian Shepherd and Terrier mix, currently about 17 pounds and expected to grow into a medium-sized boy.

I'm high-energy, playful, and absolutely love being outside, but I also like to be held like a baby. . .laying on my back. I would do best in a home with a fenced yard where I can run, explore, and burn off some of my puppy energy. I would be a great buddy for hiking, Frisbee, long walks, or even running. I'm going to be the best playmate ever!

I have a pretty impressive collection of tricks that I invented myself, including barrel rolls and flips that I will happily repeat over and over again. I even make the cutest little sound effects while I play. Honestly, I think watching me is almost as entertaining as playing with me!

I'm still a puppy and have lots to learn, but I've accomplished potty and crate training, and I'm doing well on my leash for potty breaks (true leash walking is beginning soon). I'm also practicing waiting patiently before meals and before going inside or outside. I'm getting better at sitting nicely while my leash and collar are taken off, especially when I know there's a treat waiting afterward.

I'm also learning that "no" is an important word because, well, the world is full of interesting things and sometimes I really want to put my teeth on them! I'll need someone who is patient, consistent, and committed to training so I can grow into the wonderful adult dog I know I can be. For all my puppy energy, I'm also a very sweet boy who loves attention and being petted. Give me some playtime, some training, lots of love, and a person who can keep up with me, and I'll give you endless laughs, adventures, and a whole lot of puppy love!

If you're looking for a partner, you should complete the app so we can meet:
www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/

**As a reminder, puppies will need lots of time and attention during the first year. Before adopting me, please make sure that you have enough time, energy and commitment to devote to my training. Puppies need a lot of care, so everyone in your household should be on board and ready to help out**

My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
