Scooby in Maine's Story
SCOOBY IN PORTLAND, MAINE!
Age: 6 yrs 4 months
Weight: 68.8 pounds
Breed: mix

We are cross-posting this handsome gentleman for our friends at Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.

Scooby-dooby-doo is here to help you solve the mystery of why you haven't adopted a dog yet. The answer is...you were waiting for him!

Like his namesake, this Scooby is the most loyal of companions. He is looking to be your sidekick no matter what ghouls or ghosts come your way. Scooby's number one objective in life is to be snuggled with his human - preferably while you are rubbing his belly. While the real Scooby Doo spends a lot of time in dark and creepy places, this Scooby LOVES a bright sunny spot to lounge in. Whether it's in the yard, on the porch, or just in the sun on the living room floor, you can find him sprawled out in it like the true hound dog he is.

Dogs: Scooby is looking to be the star of his own show. Scooby may get along with some other dogs with proper introductions, but he is not looking to share his new home with them.

Cats/small animals: Similarly, he's a hound, so he's got a bit of a prey drive that makes him unsuitable for living with cats or critters.

Kids: Scooby is no Great Dane like his namesake, but he certainly is strong and especially so when his nose is on a case! For this reason, we are looking for a home where any kiddos are teenaged or older to keep everyone safe.

Scooby is mostly a mellow guy who values relaxing with a good Scooby Snack over anything else. He'd much rather let others go on the crazy adventures and learn about it all later over a belly rub. That's not to say he doesn't appreciate a good stroll outdoors, but if you're looking for a hiking or traveling companion to go everywhere with you, another dog might be the right choice.

We are positive that Scooby is going to make a great addition to his new home. He is a sweet, goofy, trustworthy companion to have at your side.

*Thanks to a generous donor, Scooby's adoption fee has been sponsored!

**To set Scooby and his future family up for success, he is being placed by the shelters Behavior and Training Team. If you'd like to set up a meet-and-greet with him, please email them directly at TRAINING@ARLGP.ORG and copy ARLs DOGS@ARLGP.ORG too, to set up a meet-and-greet!
