Scooby-Doo's Story
Why choose me?

Scooby Doo is a sweet, medium-sized fellow. He wanted to leave his kennel and walk with me, but as soon as other dogs started barking at him, he froze and lay on his belly. With pets, encouragement, and sometimes carrying him a few feet, we made it to the interaction pen. The turf was hot, so Scooby spent most of his time with me in the shade. He was shy but gaining confidence, and eventually he lounged beside me enjoying scratches and belly rubs. I offered him a few snacks (Afterall, he's Scooby Doo!), but he was more interested in squeaky toys and pets. When it was time to return to his kennel, Scooby surprised me by walking on the leash. He still needed some encouragement as we neared the kennels, but he knew he had a friend and was doing better. He's a good boy who needs to know that he's safe and loved.

You can read more about this dog and check out additional photos here: https://www.accgov.com/9482/Dogs

The adoption fees, shelter schedule, a description of the rescue and adoption process, and a list of included vetting can be found at https://athenspets.net/adoption-rescue-process.

This dog is available for adoption through Athens-Clarke County Animal Services, located at 125 Buddy Christian Way, Athens, GA.
