Scooby's Story

Nice to meet you, I'm Scooby! My life hasn't always been rainbows and butterflies, but lately I've been learning about all the good this life has to offer. I arrived at the SPCA severely malnourished and dehydrated. Before arriving, I was fed one very large meal. Since it had been a while since I had a good meal, this caused me to have food bloat! I was rushed to the emergency vet, where they took great care of me!

My friends at the SPCA have been working so hard to get me healthy again. I came with an awful skin infection, fleas, and a lifetime of scarring on my skin due to uncontrolled allergies. We have found a diet and medication regimen that works really well to decrease my skin inflammation and for once in my 11-12 years of life... I'm comfortable. I have been gaining weight, my body doesn't itch anymore, and my eyes are no longer goopy like they were. I feel so much better, and my personality is starting to come out! My friends here say I am a goofy old man. I love to spend time snuggling on the couch, and I really do love these people here.

I am looking for a home with no other pets. I'm not a fan of other dogs in my space; it really stresses me out. I would love some people who can love me and only me unconditionally! Someone who will buy me a nice dog bed to nap on. I am still in treatment for my skin, so I am looking for a medical foster-to-adopt so we can be sure I have jumped all the hurdles on the way to my happy ever after. Despite all I have been through, I am a happy guy who craves love and affection from my own humans!
